Community Solidarity

We support the communities where we live, serve and do business. We believe this contributes to the well-being of our communities as well as to employee motivation and engagement. Our support includes donation of funds to advance the quality of life where we do business. We encourage our employees to donate to causes important to them, with their gifts matched by the Novus Gift Matching program, and also engage in volunteer activities in our local communities. Most of our community activities take place in the U.S, where we have the largest number of employees and our global headquarters.

Funding for the Community

During 2013, we donated $705,000 for community causes in the U.S. Fifty percent of this sum was provided by employees and Novus matched the amounts to reach the total. In addition, hundreds of Novus employees again volunteered their time in community support to advance awareness for sustainable agriculture, food security, arts and culture and solidarity with our communities in times of need.

Activities we Supported

Arts & Education Council
Novus is a long-time supporter of the St. Louis Arts & Education Council (AEC). Together with our employees, we donated nearly $10,000 to the 2013 AEC Annual Giving Campaign. At the conclusion of the campaign, over 400 guests from the community joined us at Novus headquarters for the 5th Annual Novus Art Walk, with artwork presented by over 30 local artists and arts organizations.

United Way/GenNext
For the past 22 years, Novus has participated in the annual United Way of Greater St. Louis Campaign to benefit United Way programs in and around the St. Louis region. Together with our employees, we donated nearly $190,000 to the campaign. In addition, Novus hosted a reception to benefit the United Way GenNext Society, which facilitates opportunities for young professionals to get involved in the community while advancing their careers. Novus formed the first GenNext corporate chapter in St. Charles, Missouri in 2012.

Katy Trail 5K
Novus hosted and co-sponsored the third annual Run for the Farms 5K with Edward Jones at our headquarters in June 2013. The run attracted nearly 200 runners of all ages, with proceeds benefitting The Katy Land Trust that helps conserve the quality of lands by the Missouri River.

Alleviating Hunger
Novus employees joined over 1,500 volunteers at the John Burroughs School in St. Louis for the St. Louis World Food Day in October 2013, helping to assemble over 200,000 meals in one day. Also in 2013, we held our third annual food drive to benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank. Together with our employees, we donated $10,000, funding over 36,000 meals to help alleviate hunger in the St. Louis area.
